Index To Our Journal

’Tis to the pen and press we mortals owe
All we believe, and almost all we know.
— Anon. (before 1765)

The Journal of the Antique Telescope Society (JATS) is where the experiences, advice, and research of our expert members are reported in detail. Its contents are permanently archived in the SAO/NASA Astrophysics Data System (ADS). Accessing this wealth of material is easy for members and nonmembers alike.

Below are listed all the main articles that have appeared in the JATS since the first issue back in 1992. Click on a title, and you'll be taken to that article's abstract page on the ADS website.

Once you're on that page, note the small box in the upper right corner. If it says FULL TEXT SOURCES, click on one of the links under those words to bring up the article's first page, either as a PDF or as a web page. If, on the other hand, the box says NO SOURCES FOUND, the article is too recent to be available to nonmembers yet. Currently, this applies to articles that came out in 2020 and since then.

When the PDF of an article's first page appears, you can save the file for future reference. If, instead, you are viewing it online, continue pressing "Next article page" to finish reading the article. After that, you can continue pressing "Next article page" to see the rest of contents of that issue. You'll notice many smaller articles, pictures, and notes that have not been individually indexed.
